A Reception - Year 6 Catholic Primary School
We understand that the move from pre-school to school is a significant one for the youngest members of our community. Antonio staff liaise with local pre-schools and child care centres to ensure a smooth transition for new students.
We run our Early Explorers Transition Program, offered over a 14 week period for your child at no cost.
Each Thursday morning your child will be welcomed into the school at 9.00am and greeted by our Reception teacher. Your child will then have the opportunity to get to know the staff, the school facilities and experience some of the routines and expectations of school life. After enjoying learning activities both inside and outside the session concludes at 11.45am.
This time will also give them the opportunity to make new friends, play in the school yard and undertake morning recess together. We see this as a vital first step in establishing important relationships and providing a smooth transition into the school community for you and your child.
Early Explorers will also be offered to other non-enrolled families at a cost of $5 per session. This gives an opportunity to these families to also get to know the school and staff as they make the important decision of which school their child will attend.
For these families, should they then enrol their child, all fees paid up to that point will be deducted from the following year's school fees.
Our teachers also visit the children at their pre-school prior to starting school to meet them in a familiar environment.
